Underwood Wins Again in Auto Value Super Sprints, Only this Time it's Tyler's Turn

BIRCH RUN, MI (August 7, 2009) - The fire breathing, winged warriors of the Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints Series rolled out for there 30-lap feature as Tyler Underwood and Kyle Flint brought the 19-car field down to the green flag to start the feature.

Sondi Eden, who started third in the pack, shot past Flint and she immediately began applying pressure to Underwood. Eden tried to get around Underwood but soon began fading back, which allowed Ryan Litt to move past Eden into second place and the Canadian took his turn at trying to get by Underwood, who’s father, Troy Underwood, won the AVSS Feature at Dixie back on July 3rd in the series’ first appearance of the season.

Litt quickly reeled in the younger Underwood and the battle was on for the top spot. The two stout competitors diced through lapped traffic and made some daring three-wide maneuvers, which wowed the capacity crowd on hand.

After all was said and done however, Underwood, in his father’s Hamilton Trucking Sprint Car would fend off one last late charge by Litt and the Jackson, Michigan driver beat the Canadian as the checkered flag flew by less than a car length to score the feature win.

Litt settled for second while two-time defending series champion, Jason Blonde scored the last podium position in third. Flint finished fourth over Eden who completed the top five. Current AVSS point’s leader, Chad Goff finished sixth as Jimmy Swain, Jeff Bloom, Ryan Davis, and Bill Tyler finished off the top 10.

The Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints Series elected to not Qualify or run heat races in an effort to speed up the show due to impending weather that was approaching. The Three Rivers, Michigan based series returns to Dixie Motor Speedway for there third and final appearance on Friday, September 4th.
