Kyle Busch Wins the Pole at Texas

FORT WORTH, TX (April 3, 2009) - Busch has an excellent chance of making it happen for the first time at TMS as the pole sitter for today’s O’Reilly 300 which is scheduled for a 2 p.m. CT start.

"It would be nice to win here on Saturday and make it three in a row and also to make it where now a pole-sitter has won here," Busch said.

Busch won both Nationwide races at TMS last year and in eight races in the series on the 1.5-mile oval, he has seven top-10 finishes.

Matt Kenseth will start on the front row with Busch and Paul Menard, and David Ragan sit on the third row. Tony Stewart is starting eighth, one spot ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Busch has some history to overcome to reach Victory Lane. No pole sitter has ever won the Nationwide race at Texas. It’s his first return to the pole since his rookie year in 2004 when he finished second to Matt Kenseth after a late caution spoiled his chance of winning.
